Robert K. Johns

Director of Resident Services

Robert serves as MidCity’s Director of Resident Services and is responsible for resident services and social impact programming. He oversees portfolio-wide programming and partnerships that drive MidCity’s core social impact priorities of resident education, employment, and health and safety, which ultimately benefit our residents and the larger community in which we do business. Robert is deeply involved in MidCity’s redevelopment of Brookland Manor into RIA, where the firm has committed to retain a 373-unit Section 8 contract within a larger mixed-income mixed use project, relocate all existing residents on-site during the redevelopment, and make a substantial private investment in social services to support residents. Prior to joining MidCity, Robert served as Director of Community Development for the Community Preservation and Development Corporation. Robert also volunteers as the Director of Advocacy & Social Services for the nonprofit Reaching Your Horizon. Robert holds a BA from Clark Atlanta University/Morehouse College, an MA from Howard University, and a PhD from Anderson University/the Catholic University of America.
